Rethinking Governance

Images such as this are disturbing and no one would really want to see what our soldiers have to go through on a daily basis. While everyday is not a bloody and brutal show, the days that are, well they aren't entertaining. These images wouldn't do any good and would only hurt the loved ones of the soldiers more. Not knowing what your family member is doing over in the war and seeing images like this could drive one insane. I currently have a brother and my best friend over seas.

Movies such as Saving Private Ryan are much more entertaining. This movie is noted as one of the top 10 military movies of all time. The only reason why I could assume this would be easier and more entertaining to watch because we as viewers know that these are actors in the movie and it's not really happening. Therefore, it doesn't hit that close to home.

The media is really our only source of information when it comes to getting up close and personal with whats going on with the government. The media is a huge outlet and considering its basically at our fingertips we can access it at anytime on multiple different devices.

I did some reading trying to figure out who really benefits from the war, and i got mixed readings. I'm sure these articles are written with very bias opinions by authors that are neither negatively or positively effected by the war. One article would say that no one benefits, another would say that the people employed by the machinery companies benefit. Its hard to get a solid answer on who benefits, but when reading statistics that there have been somewhere between 17,000 to over 1 million one source reports killed since 2001 either directly in the war or indirectly. That number is very high and if the war was here in United States I do believe there would be a much different reaction to the number deaths.
